The award winning Fluvanna County Economics and Personal Finance teaching team is looking for teachers to present and participate in its inaugural curriculum fair.
The Fair is an innovative approach to professional development that emphasizes the idea of teachers teaching teachers. This collaboration of educators is designed to explore, create, and improve engaging curriculum that is immediately applicable to the classroom. In the fair format, participants attend booths where an experienced teacher will give a short presentation of a particular activity that has proven effective in the classroom. Participants then have an opportunity to discuss the activity with the presenter and share their ideas on how to revise, extend, or improve the lesson. The presenter compiles the input and shares the revised lesson plan with participating teachers. The Fair also includes “Center Stage Presentations” for larger groups.
Do you want to share a great activity that works well in your classroom? Sign up to be a presenter in a small-group booth or a large-group center stage format. Presenters will receive 15 professional development points (and more upon approval from their respective administrators). We are looking for presentations in the areas of economics, credit, insurance, home buying, money management, retirement, and estate planning. Contact Gary Greenwood at 434-989-0049 or [email protected]. Activities should be simple and easy to implement in 15 minutes.
Do you want to start the school year with new activities sure to engage your students? Register to be a participant at: http://bit.ly/2uvDqoC.
